Not Verified | Flight delayed multiple times, until over 2 hours. We missed our connecting flight, despite it was also on United. They told they would get us a hotel room, but they made for the departing city. Then after another hour in line, they then stated too close to boarding and we would have to address when we get to destination. When we finally get on the plane, the steward seems more interested in talking to other steward than helping us. From now on, even if i have to pay more, I won't fly United again.

"disorganized and poor inflight service"

Not Verified | When I tried to check in online, I received a message that it was not possible to do so and to see an agent at the airport. At the Cancun airport large signs tell you to use the check-in kiosks, so I did what I was told, even though I knew I had to see an agent and that check-in at the kiosks would not work either. When I tried to reach the counter, I was stopped by a United employee (the "INTERVIEWER" as it said on the back of his T-shirt) who asked me what was wrong. I told him my story, but he obviously thought I was too stupid to use the machine. Then he tried to check me in at the machine and was told it was not possible. His immediate response was: "Your ESTA was cancelled!" He scared me and put me in a lot of distress and did not listen to me when I told him that my ESTA had worked on my inbound flight. He was clearly on a major power trip. After what felt like 15 minutes he finally let me go to the counter where my boarding passes came out of the printer as soon as the lady working there had entered my details. The flight from Cancun to Newark was okay, they gave us a soft drink and a snack and the flight attendants were friendly. The international flight to Frankfurt however was a completely different story. I have never experienced a more disorganized and poor inflight service. After 2 hours in the air, food service started, which was of an incredibly bad quality. The drinks cart started after the meal service, which in my case (seat 59B) meant that I was served the first drop of liquid 2:45 hours after taker off. After a rushed transfer through Newark I was thirsty and exhausted, but the two flight attendants I talked to refused to give me anything to drink since they were "doing meals". During the entire 7-hour flight the drinks cart came around exactly once. In the morning they started the service too late, so that the drinks cart did not reach the rear section of the cabin. Why did the crew start distributing meals before serving drinks? The two ladies serving my section clearly hated their jobs and they hated their customers. One of them literally threw the sandwich in my direction. The ticket was cheap, but I'd rather pay more in order to avoid that joke of an airline.

“I’m sticking to United”

Not Verified | I unfortunately missed my initial flight yesterday with another airline due to not being able to check in my bags, and after rebooking with United for a 6am flight it was missed again. I called the customer service line and I was patched through to a supervisor who helped me tremendously to find a flight leaving on the same day with an economical payout that would not hurt my wallet or have to spend a day and a half at the airport. They are amazing and it is the last time I decide to fly out with an alternate airline. I’m sticking to United for most if not all flights.

Not Verified | One of the worst airlines, old aircraft. Boarding experience is third class at Houston airport. Who gives 110V power socket on the seats. USB C and USB are standard these days even in smaller aircrafts. Food is nothing to write back home. Service sucks, help by hostesses is offered as obligation. Ticket booking staff is horrible. Yet to see anything positive about these guys and Houston airport.

"United Airlines support gets a zero"

✅ Trip Verified | United Airlines support gets a zero. 5 airports, 6 Uber rides, 3 airlines, 2 lost bags, 11 support calls. On a recent flight from Columbus CMH to Cozumel CZM, we landed in Houston IAH to make our connection. Lightning prevented landings and departures for several hours, and our connection was one of the flights that got cancelled. United didn’t give us any help getting a flight rebooked – the line at the gate wrapped around the corner and phone support put us on hold indefinitely. We finally found out all United flights were full for the next 2 days, so we booked through Delta. We tried to retrieve our carry-on bags that got checked in CMH, but the baggage claim area was in chaos – no signs, no announcements, multiple lines, people shouting. We waited 3 hours to speak to a representative, who told us to return in 2-3 hours to claim our bags. When we returned, the 300+ people wanting their bags had become an angry mob. At 11pm (15 hours after we’d arrived), they closed the baggage area without anyone getting their bags. We never once saw any security in this area, even though people were coming very close to getting into fights. It was extremely unsafe. We arrived at our destination 30 hours later than planned, with no clothes or medications. We placed more than 10 calls to support during our stay and received different instructions every single time. United finally delivered our bags to our hotel - 12 hours before we checked out to return home.

"example of irresponsibility"

895749This company shows a complete example of irresponsibility. Although my flight was a direct flight, they send a message 15 minutes before my flight, they add a layover, and the layover will be able to reach my destination the next day, but whether I lost time or I could not go to my meetings, they are just trying to pass it off with an apology message. A complete example of irresponsibility, there is no compensation for my losses, I have never experienced such nonsense before.

“I feel robbed”

✅ Trip Verified | My flight to Rome in June 2023 was cancelled and I received a credit of about $3200. I had to use the credit by June 7, 2024. I booked a flight for 2 people from Newark, NJ to Florida and their website it would cost about $800 per person. I went back to use the rest of the credit and find out they used $2848 of my credit and the rest is no where to be found! I cannot justify and would never agree to spending $1400 for a ticket to Florida - I wouldn't gone back to Rome! Customer service told me that could not see any info on their end and I had to file a complaint and wait 15-30 for the 'back office'. By that time my credit will be expired. I feel robbed and this is absolute trickery.

Not Verified | This airline is constantly getting worse!! I have taken 8 flights since 1st of the year and I Don't think a single 1 has been on time! Half the time the crew is late the other half is problems with the plane. So here I am today sitting on the runway in Chicago with plane trouble. It is really getting aggravating. But they will never give you a rebate. And if you don't live in the sky don't waste your time getting a united card. You need to make 2 trips a month or you lose your perks like free seat upgrade.
